HEM, the brand of Deutsche Tamoil, initiated a survey in the context of World First Aid Day.
September 14th is the World First Aid Day. “An important issue, because first aid providers are able to save lives in an emergency situation,” says Nicolas Tobaben, Division Head for Education, Integration and Civil Protection at the “Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe Nord” in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. As the gas station network HEM now found out in a survey on ‘first aid’, despite sufficient theory first aid on Germany’s roads is still not a matter of course. Although almost all respondents already successfully attended a first aid course, every second respondent does not dare to provide first aid at an accident site. “First Aid Day is hugely important in drawing attention to the topic. The completion of a first aid course is not enough if this has been completed many years ago. Some things also change over time,” Tobaben continues.
