Now trucks, delivery vans and passenger cars can refuel AdBlue in the Netherlands more often. AdBlue is a solution that is used in diesel vehicles to make them run cleaner. So far Tamoil has an AdBlue filling installation at 22 gas stations.
What is AdBlue?
AdBlue is a mix of pure water and urea. The mixture is added to the exhaust gases in a special catalyst. This results in lower nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions from diesel engines.
What is the AdBlue consumption?
The consumption of this addition depends on, among other things, the usage of your vehicle, such as driving long distances or in the vicinity. A full tank of AdBlue is sufficient for several full tanks of fuel. So users do not have to fuel AdBlue as often as regular diesel tanka. For trucks that will be approximately 4 4 to 8 per cent of diesel consumption. That amounts to approximately 1.5 liters per 100 kilometers. The consumption is much lower for passenger cars: about 2 liters per 1,000 kilometers.
