Crude Oil

The bulk of Tamoil Overseas Limited’s crude oil supply and trading takes place between producers and suppliers in North Africa (Libya/Algeria/Egypt), West Africa (Nigeria), the North Sea (Norway/Great Britain/Denmark), Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.

Such activity meets both the requirements of the Group’s Holborn refinery in Germany (its Cremona and Collombey refineries having been converted into strategic depots) and its trading activities. Tamoil’s crude oil once came almost entirely from Libya, supplemented as required from other regions. Diversification by region and grade has helped it become an important player in international markets. Trading in a variety of grades has also enabled Tamoil to optimise its refinery runs and to meet continually changing product quality specifications.

Refined Products & Petrochemicals

Although crude oil dominates Tamoil Overseas Ltd’s business, the company is also active in products trading, both selling products like gasoil and jet fuel originating from Libya to external markets such as Tunisia and Morocco, and supplying Libya with imported mogas.

Tamoil’s trading activities have been extended into a diversified portfolio of products such as petrochemicals and olefins (pygas, methanol, crude C4, propylene, polyethylene, sulphur and urea), products it now supplies direct to end-consumers in Europe, the USA, the Middle East and Asia. The company is also active in fuel oil and naphtha, and is looking into other markets such as bio diesel and LNG.
